Ray Schiavone
Ray Schiavone is managing partner of Ranch View Technologies. An experienced business leader in a variety of industries, Ray had a highly successful career as a GE executive during CEO Jack Welch’s tenure, followed by an industry recognized entrepreneurial career where he created more than $1 billion of shareholder value. For over 20 years, Ray held the position of President & CEO at several successful technology companies, most recently as CEO of Quark Software Inc., where he led its turnaround, resulting in an acquisition by private equity. Previously, Ray was President and CEO of Arbortext Inc., which was acquired by Parametric Technology Corp (PTC) for nearly 5X revenues, and was President of TPN Register LLC, a GE and Thomas Publishing joint venture. Ray was also an executive at GE, where during his 14-year tenure, he held leadership positions throughout the United States and Europe.
In addition to his operating business leadership, Ray has served as founder, investor, advisor and board member of several entrepreneurial businesses including co-founding Nagle Athletic Surfaces, which was acquired by AstroTurf Corporation, returning 70x for investors, and board member for 3esi (now Aucerna), acquired by Rubicon Technology Partners.
Ray received an MBA from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Syracuse University. He is a graduate of GE’s Corporate Audit Staff and Information Management Leadership programs.
Ray has been active on a number of boards, including serving on the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland’s Clark School of Engineering. He has been recognized for his corporate and entrepreneurial success and received numerous awards including Michigan Venture Capital Association’s Entrepreneur of the Year award, Crain’s Detroit Business Forty under Forty, and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Dave Peralta
Dave Peralta is currently Managing Director of RDP Business Advisors, a management consulting firm for emerging technology companies. He was previously Chief Executive Officer at BlueWillow Biologics, a ventured-backed biopharmaceutical company using nanotechnology to develop next-generation treatments for allergy and infectious disease. During his tenure, BlueWillow raised over $80 million in equity financing and $90 million in research grants which led to the ongoing development of several product candidates and the commercial launch of NanoBio® Protect, a novel nasal antiseptic for the prevention of respiratory infection. Prior to BlueWillow, Dave served for three years as Chief Executive Officer at NanoBio Corporation, where he directed the company’s strategic transformation from its focus on dermatology therapies to the broadened product portfolio held by BlueWillow today.
Before joining NanoBio, Dave served as Chief Financial Officer at Arbortext, a venture-backed enterprise software company, up through the company’s acquisition by Parametric Technology Corporation in 2005. Prior to joining Arbortext, Dave was Chief Financial Officer of Mechanical Dynamics, a publicly-held software company, where he directed all finance and investor relations activities during the company’s initial public offering and up through the company’s sale to MSC Software Corporation in 2002.
Dave is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. While at Michigan, Dave played on four Big Ten champion baseball teams, serving as captain his senior year. He currently resides in Northville, Michigan, with his wife Rose, their four children and their dog Ralphie.
