Titania® eIFU Delivery Adoption Grows as European Commission Considers Expansion of eIFU Allowance

Ann Arbor, MI, Feb 21, 2025 –Acknowledging the rapid evolution of technology, the ability to deliver information quicker and more effectively, and the healthcare professionals’ preference for instructions for use in electronic format (eIFUs), the European Commission has announced the draft initiative to amend the Regulation (EU) 2021/2226 (eIFU Regulation) to “allow IFUs in electronic format for all medical devices intended for use by healthcare professionals.”  In addition to the benefits to healthcare professionals, this amendment would enable operational improvements for Med Tech organizations and contribute to environmental sustainability.

Oberon’s Titania® EIFU Delivery solution usage continues to expand as well, with the latest successful implementation for Fresenius Kabi, who joins other industry leaders including Edwards Lifesciences, Integra Lifesciences, and ConMed with successful implementations on time and on budget.

“Oberon is proud to consistently deploy our compliant, globally-accessible eIFU delivery solution to our clients within weeks of project launch in most cases.  We understand our clients need to move quickly and make IFUs available for both healthcare professionals and patients, which is why we are committed to working in partnership with our clients to maintain our 100% project success track record.” says Oberon CEO, Tim Allen and adds “Our goal is to provide solutions that meet all regulatory requirements, while giving our clients the flexibility to adapt the solution to their specific needs and scale in the future.”

Titania eIFU Delivery eliminates the tedious, time-consuming and costly manual processes often needed to post eIFUs for global access. Titania® eIFU Delivery provides all the functionality needed to simplify the management, access to, and delivery of eIFUs anywhere on any device. Without dependence on third-party services, client administrators can now make all approved eIFU content readily available on their custom branded portal(s) that can be accessed from any computer or smart device. Oberon is the only eIFU solution provider to enable their customers to control all aspects of their delivery platform, metadata, and sites so they can make content and branding changes quickly and easily. The platform further scales to support the delivery of other documentation types including patient leaflets, quality documentation, product installation instructions and more.
