Ann Arbor, MI – August 1, 2016 – Oberon Technologies, a leading systems integrator of structured content technology and their client Autodesk, a leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, have been selected to speak at the LavaCon 2016 conference. The presentation will review how the two worked together to build a solution that enables subject matter experts across Autodesk to easily contribute content to their global knowledge network.
During their presentation “Making it Easy for Non-Tech Writers to Contribute to Your Knowledge Network” speakers, Lorraine Aochi, Sr Manager Content Strategy at Autodesk and Chuck Martens, Business Development Director at Oberon Technologies share the Autodesk journey and lessons learned. At Autodesk often the most interesting and useful product information is captured only in PDF, Word and PowerPoint formats making it a struggle for the knowledge teams to easily reuse and manage the content.
The Autodesk team wanted a way to easily capture content contributions and move content into XML so it can easily be managed, localized and published. The goal, adopt a simple publishing tool with a familiar word-like interface that shields authors from the complexities of XML, while capturing all the value for downstream automation.
“Our goal was to improve our ability to harvest more content into our global knowledge network. Oberon’s experts helped simplify our Creation, Review and Localization processes so we can now allow our contributors to focus on just writing not tags or complex tools,” says Lorraine Aochi, Autodesk.
Autodesk and Oberon Technologies’ presentation will be held Wednesday, October 26th from 10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at the conference.
