Schneider Electric Achieves New Efficiencies in Multi-channel Document Publishing with Support from Oberon Technologies

Ann Arbor, MI – Dec. 11, 2015 – Oberon Technologies announced today that Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation, has selected Oberon Technologies as the consulting and technology solution partner to enable the multi-channel publishing of the North America Product Digest.

Schneider Electric’s Digest provides consumers with the most up-to-date technical and product selection information for more than 22,000 orderable parts. Giving consumers maximum flexibility in the way they access the product information they need, Schneider Electric provides the Digest in multiple formats including: print, PDF with mobile App, and now a dynamic online content delivery portal. Allowing consumers to access the information they need through the media or device of their choice is just one more way that Schneider Electric continues to improve their customers’ experience.

With embedded links and covering 17,000 pages of product catalogs and supplemental content, the production of the Digest is no simple tasks. Demands to make the Digest available simultaneously in all media adds a level of complexity that can be daunting. Fortunately the Schneider Electric team, with the support of Oberon Technologies expert services, was able to transform the Digest content into a structured authoring environment making it easy to reuse content and collaborate, while also allowing for the automated publishing and delivery to all formats from a single-source of content.

“Given the complexity of the tables, graphics, and technical content that make up the Digest the idea of digitizing it seemed overwhelming at the start. It was great that in just 5 weeks from start to finish with Oberon’s expertise and their recommended Titania Delivery solution we were able to have all our content transformed and available online,” said Mark Mitchell, Project Manager, Partners Organization, Schneider Electric.

“What is most useful about the approach we have taken with the Digest is that throughout the publishing process we can now leverage and preserve all the intelligence and relationships within our content, all while producing adaptive design and mobile-ready output. Using a single source of content our team can produce print, PDF and now all online delivery formats of the Digest with greater efficiency,” said Kevin Habel, MOTIF Product Manager, Schneider Electric.

“We are pleased that Oberon Technologies was chosen to help address the documentation and dynamic publishing needs of the Schneider Electric documentation teams. We truly feel there is no documentation challenge our team of experts cannot successfully address. Partnering with Schneider Electric on the Digest project is a perfect example of the dramatic efficiencies possible when you have the right combination of content strategy and technology,” said Joe Jenkins, President, Oberon Technologies.
